On Peace
Peace is real. Peace is eternal. Peace is the nature of God. Peace is everywhere present. even in the eye of tornado there is peace. I claim this peace as my life and know with every opportunity I accept peace for myself and for us all.

World Peace
United in the love of God, we live in peace.
Jesus spoke about the inter-connectedness of all humankind through Spirit when he said, "On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you."
One of my greatest desires is to live in a compassionate, understanding, and kind world. I do my part to help create such a world by adopting those qualities in all of my interactions with others.
As I smile at a stranger or offer assistance to someone, I am contributing to a world of peace. On a broader scale, I show respect for the people of other nations and cultures, knowing that we all share planet earth as the home God created for us--a home in which we live together in peace and love.
I love my neighbors. I add to the global consciousness of peace, affirming: United in the love of God, we live in peace.

For the past week, you've been glued to the
Olympics. There's just something about the guts, the glory...and those
insanely chiseled glutes.
You may never achieve Lindsey Vonn-level skills on the slopes, but
Under
Armour's new Recharge line might help you sculpt
athlete-worthy curves.
Pull on the snug Recharge Compression T ($99.99) after a hard
workout. The shirt is tight in strategic spots to promote tissue
repair and reduce soreness and swelling. (It's based on the
idea that taking ice-cold showers after exercise speeds muscle
contraction and healing.) No matter how hard you hit it at kickboxing
class, lifting weights or during a long run, the company claims you'll
feel less achy the next day. Which means you can get back up and do it
all over again.
"It's worth every penny," one user review raved. "My muscles felt
somehow cooler in temperature and almost...stimulated. Feels like I'm
getting a very nice massage."
So while you're gawking at the TV après-gym, your muscles are getting
stronger, longer and leaner.

It's your new main squeeze. |

Build the body you want in half the time
What if you could make any exercise 10 times more
effective? Chances are, you can. That's because most men—including
longtime gym rats—make tiny technique errors on even the most basic
movements, and these seemingly minor mistakes can prevent you from
achieving the body you want. You see, an exercise may feel right, but
smart lifting isn't just about moving a weight from point A to point B.
For big-time gains, you need to master the small details of proper form.

Click here for 18 instant exercise
upgrades that will help you perfect your technique, engage the right
muscles, burn more calories, and lower your risk of injury. It takes
the same amount of time to do an exercise right as it does to do it
wrong. And with our help, you’ll start squeezing more from every second
of your workout.

Can you really get good pizza in LA? How about
vegan pizza? Read on.
We were invited to M
Café de Chaya for Pizza Night. Vegan
pizza night. Being omnivorous New Yorkers, we didn't expect to like it.
At the Melrose location, we ordered our pie and took a table beside
Perez Hilton. He was looking slim, so we decided the macrobiotic
fare must be working (M Café serves no animal products except
fish).
The pizza arrived. On super-thin crust, topped with fresh basil and
sliced into Italian-style strips, it looked good. But the cheese is
fake, we reminded ourselves. We tasted it. The "cheese" was smooth,
stretchy, creamy...like cheese! Called "daiya," it has 33% less
fat than cheese, is free of cholesterol and trans fat, and made from
plant products (get the deets here).
Most importantly, it tasted good.
Two of us ate one pizza (it's less than $10) and felt light but
satisfied afterward.
That's amore.

Before cars, fast food and iWhatevers, we were a
pretty buff species. Hunting, gathering and ducking predators made every
day a serious workout.
That's the theory behind Wildfitness, a training style that mimics moves
our ancestors might have made. Philippe
Til (pictured),
America's only Wildfitness-certified trainer, took us back in
time:
- Toss the shoes. If you can't bear barefoot, check
out Vibram's FiveFingers.
- Swing your arms. We lifted a weighted bar over and
behind us, opening desk-stiffened shoulders.
- Re-learn to "crawl." Lying on our bellies with arms
extended, we lifted our legs and tried to crawl in place, a little like
this,
correcting slouchy posture and strengthening abs.
- Jump for the trees. We did burpees,
improving our explosive movements (hint: focus on height, not on legs).
- Lift rocks. Or in this case, kettlebells (iron
weights). We learned how to hinge from our hips--and shocked ourselves
by hoisting 54 pounds.
- Throw punches. We boxed (gloves and all),
rediscovering natural movements and strength we didn't know we had.
Call us "girls gone wild."

Usually, when something sounds too good to be
true, it is. (We've had enough so-so setups to confirm this.)
So when we heard about The Quickie, a 20-minute,
twice-a-week workout from Gravity
Fitness at Le Parker Meridien, we were leery. But hope
springs eternal...and 20 minutes? We had to learn more.
It turns out the program is rooted in research: Working your
muscles to "failure"--keeping the weight high and the reps low--helps
them become stronger. (And strengthening muscles means your
resting metabolic rate increases, so you burn more fat.)
Our tester had a trainer take her through four weight machines that
targeted her legs, arms, back, chest, and abs. By her second session,
she felt stronger and was able to do handle more weight. Plus, the
workout ended lickety-split, perfect for midday lunch breaks.
What's not to like about a Quickie?
